AXOLOTL: MASTERS OF REGENERATION is an original contemporary dance piece by Andrea L. Wukitsch, Joel Hall’s former student, exploring the journey through the broken heart of the Black woman and the ways in which she must regenerate herself to remain whole.

Andrea has been in residence for two months at Experimental Station through the Stillwell Institute for Contemporary Black Art, led by its founder/director Carla Stillwell. The residency paired Andrea with a mentor, Joel Hall, who provided feedback on the development of the piece as well as led a free master class for Andrea and a handful of other emerging dancers.

This project is made possible through support from the the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, the Field Foundation, and the Stillwell Institute for Contemporary Black Art.
